Basketball Recap: Miami Warriors vs. Wheeler Mustangs
Miami was the 47-40 winner over Wheeler when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Miami Warriors took a 47-28 bruising from the Wheeler Mustangs on Tuesday.
Breken Early and Kasey Benge certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Early went 6 for 13 on his way to 14 points and three steals, while Benge posted six points and three steals.
Leading Wheeler to victory were Abraham Sigala and Israel Andrade. Sigala put up eight points in addition to 16 rebounds and three steals, while Andrade had ten points and six rebounds. Andrade is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshall Mcneil, who posted nine points.
Miami's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Wheeler, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Miami will be taking part in a tournament against Holy Cross Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holy Cross Academy will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Miami surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wheeler, they are taking a road trip to challenge Sunray at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
