League recap: Pope John XXIII stuns St. Clement in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to St. Clement, who took down 262nd ranked St. Clement, 38-0. Mike Sullivan threw for 187 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Lowell Catholic extended the longest winning streak in Catholic Central - Small this week by beating Marian, 49-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Pope John XXIII's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Joe D'onofrio chipped in 93 yards. Khaneil Bruce helped Pope John XXIII's passing attack out by catching four balls for 70 yards.

Manny Wilkerson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers beat the Anchormen. Wilkerson tallied seven receptions for 121 yards.

Pope John XXIII's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sullivan has thrown for 1196 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Bruce has 40 catches for 659 yards. D'onofrio leads the league in rushing with 590 yards.

A big matchup in Catholic Central - Small this week will be when Lowell Catholic takes on St. Clement. Rick Sampson's team is in first place, while Colin Walsh's team is in third place.

Pope John XXIII was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in the league. Brian Vaughan's team defeated the Anchormen 38-0 earlier in the week.
