Baseball Recap: Monessen Greyhounds vs. Mapletown Maples

Monessen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mapletown Maples. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Maples this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 back in April.

Monessen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Reeves, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Monessen's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Mapletown, they moved to 3-15 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Monessen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mapletown, they have already played their next matchup, a 16-0 loss against Greensburg Central Catholic on the 4th.
