Basketball Recap: North Edgecombe Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

North Edgecombe extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Jamauri Cannady. The North Edgecombe Warriors snuck past the Warren County Eagles with a 65-59 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Cannady, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game.

Isavius Arrington was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Warren County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Khalil Townsend, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 15 points and five assists. Joel Bryant also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

North Edgecombe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Warren County, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Edgecombe will head out to challenge Wilson Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilson Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully North Edgecombe likes a good challenge. As for Warren County, they are taking a road trip to face off against KIPP P at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Warren County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
