Baseball Game Preview: West St. John Rams vs. Varnado Wildcats

West St. John is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Thursday. They will venture away from home to challenge the Varnado Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. West St. John has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 22.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for West St. John's offense. They came up short against Riverside Academy on Wednesday, falling 20-0.

Meanwhile, Varnado also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of St. Martin's Episcopal by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost four in a row.

West St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Varnado, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

West St. John took their victory against Varnado in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
