Recap: Skyline Falcons vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

The Skyline Falcons were the 71-65 winner over the Frederick Golden Eagles when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Skyline took a hard 68-50 fall against Frederick on Thursday. Skyline's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Skyline's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Talan Starcevich, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rahman Carson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Frederick was led to victory by Zach Burton and Jovan Aldana. Burton dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Aldana dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Burton pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ian Buffington, who scored 12 points.

Skyline now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Frederick, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Skyline will be playing at home against Northridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Skyline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. As for Frederick, they will head out on the road to face off against Thompson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thompson Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 700 points over their last nine matchups.
