Volleyball Recap: Haddam-Killingworth Comes Up Short

Haddam-Killingworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the North Branford Thunderbirds. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 14, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Haddam-Killingworth was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made North Branford work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 28-26, 25-13.

Maizie Irons paced Haddam-Killingworth's offense, picking up six kills. Irons got some help from Violet Shatraw and her five assists. Ava McNamara controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Haddam-Killingworth's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for North Branford, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Haddam-Killingworth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Morgan on the 6th. As for North Branford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Coginchaug Regional on the 6th.
