Sharkey Issaquena Academy extended the longest winning streak in MAIS A District 6 (8 Man) this week by beating Christian Collegiate Academy, 45-8. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Sharkey Issaquena Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 623 from 694. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 45-8 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
Clinton Christian Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Robert Green threw for 107 and two touchdowns and James Bass had 48 yards receiving. On the ground Justus Lewis chipped in 86 yards. James Myrick helped Clinton Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 34 yards.
Green has thrown for 1014 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Myrick has 31 catches for 706 yards. Myrick leads the league in rushing with 1002 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Clinton Christian Academy and Briarfield Academy. Matt Homan's team comes into the matchup ranked fourth in the state, while the Rebels ranks second.
Clinton Christian Academy led MAIS A District 6 (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Rebul Academy. Green ran for 25 yards in the win.
