Softball Game Preview: Anacortes Seahawks vs. Blaine Borderites

The Anacortes Seahawks will face off against the Blaine Borderites at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anacortes' hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Tuesday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Anacortes and Nooksack Valley, and Nooksack Valley kept the tradition alive. The Seahawks came up short against the Pioneers on Monday, falling 17-1.

Meanwhile, Blaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 7-4 to Lakewood.

Blaine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaylie Daniels, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Brie Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Anacortes' defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Blaine, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Anacortes might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Blaine in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Seahawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
