Football Recap: Howard Falls Short of Red Lion Christian Academy in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Howard couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They and the Red Lion Christian Academy Lions were almost perfectly matched up on Saturday, but they suffered a 41-40 loss. The Wildcats were up 22-6 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Red Lion Christian Academy was led to victory by Evan Budinger and Judah Barber. Budinger threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt, while Barber gained 141 total yards and a touchdown. Those 346 passing yards gave Budinger a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Howard fell to 11-1. As for Red Lion Christian Academy, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Howard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Red Lion Christian Academy, they will square off against Indian River at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 10.3 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
