American has gone 4-0 against South Miami recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. American's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

American is headed into Monday's following a draw, the team's first since November 19. Neither they nor Hialeah Gardens could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, South Miami had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 3-0 shutout. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

South Miami pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three games. American's draw gives them a new season record of 0-5-2.

American skirted past South Miami 1-0 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for American since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
