Baseball Recap: South Houston Takes a Loss

South Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Alvin Yellowjackets, falling 16-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 last Saturday.

South Houston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Salinas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Salinas a new career-high. Alexander Vivier also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

South Houston's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Alvin, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8.

Looking ahead, South Houston will square off against Manvel at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Alvin, they will welcome Sam Rayburn at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
