Monte Vista's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Kearny Komets. The game was the first time the Monarchs have beaten the Komets on their court since August 31, 2018.

While Monte Vista might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Kearny scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Kearny still got an impressive performance from Olivia Etheredge, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Monte Vista's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Kearny, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monte Vista will square off against Morse at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kearny, they will take on Madison at 6:15 p.m. on the 17th.
