Basketball Game Preview: Gallatin Green Wave vs. Riverdale Warriors

The Gallatin Green Wave will head out on the road to take on the Riverdale Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Gallatin is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Beech, falling 67-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Green Wave have suffered against the Buccaneers since January 31, 2020.

Meanwhile, Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Blackman and fell 70-40. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Blaze are ranked 34th).

Riverdale's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-18. As for Gallatin, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Gallatin didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Riverdale when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Riverdale's Hudson Fuqua, who went 9 of 15 en route to 23 points.
