Volleyball Recap: Cristo Rey Atlanta Comes Up Short

Cristo Rey Atlanta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the St. Mary's Academy Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against St. Mary's Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Thursday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-6.

St. Mary's Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Molly Krabel led the charge by getting nine kills, five digs, four aces, and one block. Krabel has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily Jimenez, who had 17 digs and four assists.

Cristo Rey Atlanta's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for St. Mary's Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season.

Cristo Rey Atlanta will head out on the road to challenge The King's Academy at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
