Basketball Recap: Open Door Christian Academy Find Success

Open Door Christian Academy won the last time they faced Immanuel Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Open Door Christian Academy Conquerors walked away with a 43-34 victory over the Immanuel Christian Lions.

Open Door Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Maddox Goodman, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Osborne, who posted eight points along with 12 boards and six steals.

Despite the loss, Immanuel Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Tisdale had 29 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 85.3% of Immanuel Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Bryson Rodrigue, who posted two points and eight rebounds.

Open Door Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Immanuel Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Brighton the next time they take the court. Open Door Christian Academy will host Brighton at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th, while Immanuel Christian will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
