Football Recap: Mariner Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cape Coral last Tuesday, Mariner came back down to earth. The Tritons fell 7-0 to the North Fort Myers Red Knights on Wednesday. The Tritons haven't had much luck with the Red Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mariner's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for North Fort Myers, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

Coming up, Mariner will face off against Ida Baker at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tritons 2.2, the Bulldogs 12.3) so any points scored will be well earned. North Fort Myers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
