Baseball Recap: Lexington Triumphs

Lexington's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Rogers Pirates 7-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-2 back in February.

The team relied heavily on Parker Cole, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tate Gamble, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Lexington pushed their record up to 8-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Rogers, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

Coming up, Lexington will host Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rogers, they will square off against Wauconda at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
