Bassett found their leader in underclassman David Cook, who rushed for 59 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 162 yards on 13 of 20 attempts. A healthy portion of that aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Aaron Osgood.
Bassett didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jashaun Turner, Jakyari Menefee, and Tyrell Hairston picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Tunstall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 25-0 to Martinsville.
The win got Bassett back to even at 3-3. As for Tunstall, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Everything came up roses for Bassett against Tunstall in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, as the team secured a 51-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bassett since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
