Basketball Recap: Newfane Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wilson, Newfane was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 55-48 victory over the Kendall Eagles.

Mac Capen was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. He has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Wheat, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points.

Newfane smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Newfane is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Kendall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Newfane will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Medina at 6:30 p.m. Kendall has already played their next contest (against Barker), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
