Preview: Glynn Academy vs. Valdosta
The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Valdosta (4-6) takes on Glynn Academy (6-3) in the first playoff game of the year. Both teams are strolling into their matchup after big wins in their previous games.
Last week, Valdosta took on Houston County. Valdosta's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 21 points in the first half. That put it at a 21 - 7 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 30 points. At the end of the day, Valdosta walked away with a breezy 51 - 20 win.
Meanwhile, Glynn Academy can now show off four landslide victories after its most recent game. It breezed past Bradwell Institute last week with a final score of 45 - 14. At 31 points, that marked Glynn Academy's largest margin of victory so far this year.
Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Glynn Academy and Valdosta will really light up the scoreboard.
