Volleyball Game Preview: Long Reach Lightning vs. Marriotts Ridge Mustangs

Long Reach is 2-7 against Marriotts Ridge since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lightning will square off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Long Reach lost 3-0 to Howard on Monday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-10, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Marriotts Ridge came up short against Howard on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Marriotts Ridge took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15, 25-22.

Marriotts Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Long Reach, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went Long Reach's way against Marriotts Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Long Reach made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Lightning repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
