Softball Recap: Yulee Hornets vs. University Christian Christians
Yulee easily dispatched Raines last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Yulee Hornets fell just short of the University Christian Christians by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Hornets couldn't push the score so high this time.
Yulee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Sawyer, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Having lost for the first time this season, Yulee fell to 1-1-1. As for University Christian, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yulee will welcome Fernandina Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for University Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against First Christian at 6:00 p.m. on March 14th. University Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.2 runs per game this season.
