            Baseball Recap: Lecanto Panthers vs. The Villages Charter Buffalo        
        
		
        
        
            Lecanto proved they can win big  last Friday (they won by 11) and  on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand The Villages Charter Buffalo  a   2-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Buffalo on their field since April 24, 2019.

Not much got past  Dylan Czerwinski, who gave up just  three  hits and racked up nine Ks to keep The Villages Charter off the board. Czerwinski also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Lecanto is 4-1 when he allows at  most  three  earned runs, but 2-14 otherwise.
 At the plate,  Tommy Wilson was  excellent,  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Garrett Pitzer, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Lecanto's record now sits at 6-15. As for The Villages Charter, they moved to 18-5 with that  loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
 Coming up, Lecanto will host Central  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Panthers have lost three straight at home , while the Bears have lost three on the road. As for The Villages Charter, they will face off against Union County at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
