Basketball Recap: Hampton Falls Despite Big Games from Kyler Luebbe and Wyatt Dose

Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The contest between them and the Deshler Dragons didn't end well, with the Hampton Hawks falling 59-40. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Hampton's loss came despite strong showings from Wyatt Dose and Kyler Luebbe. Dose posted 16 points, while Luebbe scored six points along with six blocks and five boards. The dominant performance gave Luebbe a new career-high in blocks.

Deshler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Sieber, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. With that strong performance, Sieber is now averaging an impressive 8.6 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Nash, who went 8 of 17 en route to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Deshler, their record is now 7-4.

Hampton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-53 loss against College View Academy on the 16th. Deshler has also already played their next matchup, a 68-51 defeat against McCool Junction on the 17th.
