Sardis proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by nine) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Alexandria Valley Cubs 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 on March 8th.

Sardis has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alexandria, their defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-5-2.

Sardis didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-0 loss against Hayden on the 29th. As for Alexandria, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Glencoe on the 29th.
