Basketball Game Preview: Cotulla Cowboys vs. Poteet Aggies

The Cotulla Cowboys will venture away from home to face off against the Poteet Aggies at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

Cotulla is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Crystal City on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cotulla took a blow against Crystal City, falling 99-45. The Cowboys haven't had much luck with the Javelinas recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poteet). They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 79-42 victory over Dilley. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Poteet and bumps their season record up to 12-18. As for Cotulla, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

Cotulla came up short against Poteet when the teams last played back in January, falling 56-47. Can Cotulla avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
