Volleyball Recap: Churubusco Find Success

Churubusco barely beat Whitko the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Wildcats 3-0 on Tuesday. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 24, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Churubusco never let Whitko on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-17, 25-20.

Churubusco found their leader in sophomore Cora Boersema, who had five digs and four aces.

Churubusco was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Churubusco's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Whitko, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Churubusco will welcome Columbia City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitko, they will take on Lewis Cass at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
