Langley entered their tilt with McLean on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They really took it to the Highlanders for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-0 victory. Given the Saxons' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Highlanders are ranked 223rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cole Samburg had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 186 yards and two TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 43 yards.

Langley's run defense was locked in: McLean could only muster -0.5 yards per carry. The Saxons didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.8.

Langley's record is now 6-2. As for McLean, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Langley will square off against George C. Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McLean, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wakefield at 7:00 p.m. on November 7.
