Basketball Recap: Thales Academy Apex Falls to Chatham Homeschool in First Game of Season

Thales Academy Apex had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt an 84-41 defeat at the hands of the Chatham HomeSchool Thunder. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.

Luke Coletta continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chatham HomeSchool, dropping a triple-double with 40 points, ten boards, and 11 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Coletta has scored at least a third of the Thunder's points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Teague, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 16 points.

Chatham HomeSchool's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Thales Academy Apex will host Burlington Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chatham HomeSchool, they are taking a road trip to square off against South Charlotte at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
