Softball Game Preview: Pitman Pride vs. Downey Knights

The Pitman Pride will square off against the Downey Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pitman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Pitman came up short against Modesto and fell 9-6. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Keanna Haro made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Woods, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Downey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against Turlock, falling 13-1.

Downey saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allison Christensen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That run marked the first that Christensen has scored this season.

Pitman's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Downey, their loss dropped their record down to 1-23.

Pitman took their victory against Downey in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 13-4 score. Do the Pride have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
