Softball Recap: Alexandria City Titans vs. Woodson Cavaliers

After flying high against Edison last Wednesday, Alexandria City came back down to earth. The Titans took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodson Cavaliers on Tuesday. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 12-9.

Alli Goetz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zaria Edwards, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Alexandria City's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Woodson, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexandria City will venture away from home to take on Wakefield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Woodson, they are taking a road trip to face off against West Potomac at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
