Soccer Recap: Moline Takes a Loss

Moline lost against East Moline United back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Maroons took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Moline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 245th, while East Moline United are ranked 72nd).

This is the second loss in a row for Moline and nudges their season record down to 3-9. As for East Moline United, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Moline didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against North Scott on the 24th. As for East Moline United, they will face off against Normal West at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Normal West will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something East Moline United surely won't give up without a fight.
