Flag Football Game Preview: Columbine Rebels vs. Northglenn Norsemen

The Columbine Rebels will take on the Northglenn Norsemen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Columbine is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Ralston Valley, who was ranked fourth at the time (Columbine was ranked 21st). The Rebels fell 18-6 to the Mustangs on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Northglenn waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 7-0. Give the Norsemen's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Northglenn's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Madeline Olmos. She is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last nine games she's played. Evelynn Jaimes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Columbine now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Northglenn, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
