Soccer Game Preview: Arete Prep vs. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy

The Arete Prep CHARGERS will challenge the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Arete Prep sitting on four straight victories and Scottsdale Preparatory Academy on ten.

Arete Prep's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over Tempe Prep. That's two games straight that the CHARGERS have won by exactly six goals.

Meanwhile, everything went Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's way against Rancho Solano Prep on Wednesday as Scottsdale Preparatory Academy made off with a 9-2 win. With the Spartans ahead 6-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

They hit Rancho Solano Prep with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maeve Morgan (4), Katie An (3), Ellie Folkestad, and Adeena Feffer.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those nine matchups. As for Arete Prep, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Arete Prep might still be hurting after the 7-2 loss they got from Scottsdale Preparatory Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2015. Can Arete Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
