Football Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Cohasset + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Cohasset rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 22-14 win over the Amesbury Redhawks. The 22-point effort marked the Skippers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Cohasset had a senior duo take command as Gus Greene rushed for 131 yards and one TD while picking up 8.2 yards per carry and Michael Wildfire rushed for 67 yards and a pair of scores. Greene's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 131 rushing yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Cohasset's defense and their four sacks. Will Santacroce was especially locked on to Amesbury's QB and sacked him twice. Santacroce also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11. Daniel Baker was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Cohasset pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.4 points on average over those games. As for Amesbury, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.
