The Mater Bay Academy Rays will square off against the Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. Mater Bay Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9  runs per game  this season.
On Thursday, Mater Bay Academy was able to grind out a solid  victory over Mater Lakes Academy, taking the game  13-9.
  Jarilynn Romero was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in February.  Amber Gutierrez was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs.
Meanwhile, Schoolhouse Prep waltzed into their match  on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Conchs  a   9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wolfpack, who have now won six games by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
Not much got past  Samantha Torres, who gave up just  four  hits and racked up six Ks to keep Key West off the board. Torres has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Schoolhouse Prep let  Angelly Benitez and  Valeria Vazquez run wild. Benitez  went a perfect 3-for-3 with four  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double, while  Vazquez  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sofia Villa, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Mater Bay Academy's win  ended  a  six-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 8-11. As for Schoolhouse Prep, they now  have a winning record of 10-9.
 Schoolhouse Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them  on Monday. Mater Bay Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.4  strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Schoolhouse Prep, though, as  they've been averaging  only 4.1  strikeouts. Will Mater Bay Academy keep running through batters, or will the Wolfpack buck the trend?
