Basketball Game Preview: Mojave Rattlers vs. Sunrise Mountain Miners

Mojave and Sunrise Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Mojave Rattlers just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Sunrise Mountain Miners at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Mojave turned things around against Cimarron-Memorial on Thursday. They took down the Spartans 43-27.

Mojave's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jac?Amore Fahie Fahie, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Fahie a new career-high. Zeryah Stokes was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain beat Las Vegas 57-48 on Wednesday.

Sunrise Mountain's win came from a few key players Mojave will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ava Alexander, who posted 19 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Delyla Ross, who scored 16 points.

Mojave's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Sunrise Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Mojave skirted past Sunrise Mountain 41-39 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Does Mojave have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sunrise Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
