Basketball Recap: Skyline Raiders vs. Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes

Skyline lost against Duncanville back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Skyline Raiders were dealt an 82-46 loss at the hands of the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while the Panthers and Pantherettes are ranked 11th).

Duncanville was led to victory by Cam Smith and Kayden Edwards. Smith dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Edwards went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points. Smith continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Gooden Jr., who posted ten points.

Skyline has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-22 record this season. As for Duncanville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Duncanville, they will challenge Temple at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
