Basketball Game Preview: King Panthers vs. Goose Creek Memorial Patriots

King is 2-7 against Goose Creek Memorial since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The King Panthers will challenge the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots at 1:00 p.m. King will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Last Wednesday, King earned a 51-42 victory over Atascocita. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Eagles are ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Goose Creek Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 61-54 to Kingwood.

King's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Goose Creek Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Everything came up roses for King against Goose Creek Memorial in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 73-39 victory. In that contest, King amassed a halftime lead of 44-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
