Softball Preview: Bullard Knights vs. Edison Tigers        
        
		
            
 Bullard is 9-1 against Edison since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Bullard Knights will head out on the road to  challenge  the Edison Tigers at 3:30  p.m. Both teams come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Last Tuesday, Bullard was able to grind out a solid  win over Madera, taking the game  5-1. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Bullard.
  Emily Hinchey spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Juju Martinez, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.  Chrissa Canel was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Edison got themselves on the board against Lemoore last Wednesday, but Lemoore never followed suit. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of  4-0. The  victory was just what Edison needed coming off of  a  13-4 defeat in their prior  game.
  Anisia Rivera was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Ioni Tate, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Bullard pushed their record up to 12-6 with that  win, which was their sixth straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.8 runs per game. As for Edison, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
 Bullard beat Edison 8-4  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023. Will Bullard repeat their success,  or does  Edison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
