Soccer Game Preview: Catoctin vs. Boonsboro

Catoctin hasn't had much luck against Boonsboro recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Catoctin will be strutting in after a win while Boonsboro will be coming in after a loss.

Boonsboro better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Catoctin's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Catoctin really gets things going. The Cougars' defense stepped up to hand New Life Christian a 3-0 shutout. Catoctin might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Boonsboro lost 7-1 to Williamsport on Monday. While losing is never fun, Boonsboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland soccer rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Williamsport are ranked 26th).

Boonsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Catoctin, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.

Catoctin might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Boonsboro when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
