Soccer Recap: Cave Spring Takes a Loss

Cave Spring lost against Patrick Henry two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Knights lost 6-0 to the Patriots. While losing is never fun, Cave Spring can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Patrick Henry are ranked ninth).

Cave Spring's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Patrick Henry, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cave Spring will face off against Christiansburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christiansburg will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Cave Spring surely won't give up without a fight. As for Patrick Henry, they will challenge Pulaski County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pulaski County's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
