Baseball Game Preview: Weldon Valley Warriors vs. Briggsdale Falcons

Weldon Valley is 1-8-1 against Briggsdale since April of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Falcons at 1:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Weldon Valley fell victim to Otis and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Bulldogs.

Weldon Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was August Filter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Briggsdale scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Caliche, falling 20-10. Even if the Falcons couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Ryott Simmonds and Scot Francis did some serious damage despite the final result: Simmonds went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Francis went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Briggsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Weldon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
