Lakes is 9-1 against Round Lake since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lakes came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against Antioch, falling 56-15. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lakes' defeat came about despite a quality game from Ean Ankney, who threw for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards.

Meanwhile, Round Lake played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Wauconda 77-18. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 460th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 124th).

Lakes will have to contain Evan West as he made an impact in Round Lake's last game. He threw for 265 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt. A healthy portion of that aerial production (132 yards to be exact) went to Marqus Ries.

Lakes' loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Round Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Lakes against Round Lake in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-7 victory. In that game, the Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
