Softball Recap: Norwayne Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

Norwayne waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Dalton Bulldogs. This was payback for the Bobcats, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Abby Workman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Norwayne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Heyden, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Norwayne pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Dalton, they moved to 16-7 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Dalton will take on Triway at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Norwayne will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' contest: after the Bulldogs face off against the Titans, they'll take on Norwayne again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
