Recap: Lawrence Academy Warriors vs. Hobgood Charter Raiders
The Lawrence Academy Warriors came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 66-37 win over Hobgood Charter on the road. With Lawrence Academy ahead 39-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Conner Ferebee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with six steals. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Mike Lee was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Lawrence Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Hobgood Charter, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Crossroads Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crossroads Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Hobgood Charter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Community Christian on January 5, 2024. Community Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Hobgood Charter likes a good challenge.
