Baseball Game Preview: Crossings Christian Knights vs. Luther Lions

Crossings Christian has gone a perfect 6-0 against Luther recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Knights will take on the Lions at 5:00 p.m. Crossings Christian will be strutting in after a win while Luther will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Crossings Christian beat Southwest Covenant 6-1. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.

Maddox Turner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Turner was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Crossings Christian let Brennan White and Kade Wienstroer run wild. White scored two runs and stole two bases, while Wienstroer went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Wienstroer a new career-high. Brayden Ayala also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Luther was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Cashion, falling 10-4.

Luther saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shea Curtis, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Luther's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Crossings Christian, their record now sits at 6-9.

Crossings Christian took their win against Luther when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
