Basketball Game Preview: Woodward Polar Bears vs. Africentric Early College Nubians

The Woodward Polar Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Africentric Early College Nubians at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Woodward has struggled recently with ten defeats in a row, while Africentric Early College will arrive with seven straight wins.

Woodward is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 56 points last Monday, they were much more limited against Ross on Friday. They had to suffer through a 72-29 loss at the hands of the Little Giants. While losing is never fun, the Polar Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while the Little Giants are ranked 246th).

Meanwhile, Africentric Early College strolled past Thomas Worthington with points to spare last Saturday, taking the game 61-42.

Woodward's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Africentric Early College, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Woodward was taken down by Africentric Early College 70-26 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Woodward was down 37-12.
