Soccer Game Preview: Danville vs. Richland County

The Danville Vikings will take on the Richland County Tigers in a tournament on Friday. Danville has given up an average of 3.4 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Danville fell victim to Peoria Notre Dame and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Irish. While losing is never fun, Danville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Peoria Notre Dame are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Richland County waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Rams. Two seems to be a good number for Richland County as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Danville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Richland County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
